Bid to smuggle 6.8kg of heroin foiled

The Anti Narcotic Force (ANF) on Thursday foiled a bid to smuggle 6.8kg heroin to a foreign country and arrested two persons at Benazir Bhutto Shaheed International Airport. An official deputed at airport arrested a passenger Muhammad Arshad, a resident of District Gujrat and recovered 6.8kg heroin from his possession.
The accused person was going to Spain via Dubai by Emirates Airlines flight No EK-613, when he reached ANF counter for luggage checking he looked doubtful. On search, the official recovered 6.8kg heroin, concealed in secret cavities made inside his trolley bag, he said. He said that ANF team deputed at Rawalpindi airport intercepted another suspected passenger Mushtaq Ahmed, a resident of Mandi Bahauddin from the airport. He was picked up by profiling and later the individual also looked suspicious. During initial interrogation, the accused confessed of having heroin filled capsules in his stomach. The accused has been shifted to hospital for recovery of capsules. He was going to Sharjah by Air Blue Flight No PA-212.
