The Ministry of Interior has appointed Hamid Ali Khan as a new Chief of National Counter Terrorism Authority. According to a private TV channel, the decision was taken in a meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Saharif. Hamid Ali Khan is currently working as a Secretary, Capital Development and Administration. He is the first permanent Chief of the NCTA. The NCTA was established in 2008 and the post had remained vacant for the last six years.
