Larkana Additional District and Sessions Judge Gul Zameer Solangi, who was admonished by the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar, resigned on Tuesday due to the 'humiliating behavior of the top judge'.

In his application submitted to the Sindh High Court (SHC) registrar, Solangi said that he was resigning due to the behavior of the Justice Nisar during court proceedings, which was aired on electronic, print and social media.

He wrote that he had suffered 'deep anguish and injury' to his 'self-respect and dignity' and was unable to continue serving as a judge at the high court. He requested an immediate acceptance of his resignation letter, local media reported.

In one of his surprise visits, the CJP went to lower courts in Larkana on Saturday to observe court proceedings. Visiting Solangi, Justice Nisar asked Solangi how many cases he had heard, to which Solangi replied that he had heard three cases since morning.

At his reply, the CJP expressed his anger and wondered who the provision of justice could be ensured when judicial process was so slow. Noticing the judge's mobile phone, the CJP picked it up and flung it on the table.

This video of the top court judge went viral after which Judge Solangi submitted his resignation letter.
