Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) has announced to observe peaceful demonstrations in every district of Sindh on December 5 across Sindh against killing of their leader Dr Khalid Mahmood Soomro. Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, JUI-F leader Maulana Taj Muhammad Nahyoon said that their leaders including the party Chief Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman were being attacked across the country.
The JUI-F was passing through pain and pathos with the martyrdom of Dr Khalid Mahmood Soomro as his murder was not only great loss for the party but for the whole Islamic world. He alleged that Dr Soomro was murdered as he had played his role for establishing peace, rights of Sindh, supremacy of Islam and abolition of Jagirdari system. He said the JUI-F was a peaceful party it believed in tolerance and opposed any act of terrorism.
He added that the JUI-F had been working in the first row of struggle for democracy in the country. He was of the view, "It seems there is conspiracy in killing our Ulema." He made it clear that if the killers think that by targeting the JUI-F leaders, their voice for Sindh rights would stop they were mistaken.
He said the murder of Dr Khalid had given inspiration to our workers as now Dr Khalid would be born in every home. He said, "We are not afraid of such attacks and they cannot stop us to work for the supremacy of Islam. He said the JUI-F was only party that had more Ulema (religious scholars) than any other.
He said Maulana Fazl-Ur-Rehman had been attacked three times and Dr Khalid Soomro was killed dastardly. But due to their peaceful preaching not a single window pane was broken, nor a vehicle burnt in whole Pakistan but warned that their silence should not be treated as weakness.
Maulana Nahyoon announced that they would hold peaceful demonstrations in every district of Sindh on December 5 to mark protest against the martyrdom of Khalid Soomro and attacks on their Quaid. He lamented that despite such a horrific incident no government functionary including Sindh Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Home Secretary and IGP had not contacted with the deceased's family.
He demanded the removal of Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and arrest of Dr Soomro's killers otherwise they would be compelled to hold unique protest unprecedented in Pakistan. Mufti Habibullah, Hafiz Khalid Hassan Dhamra, Hafiz Azam Jehangiri, Ghulam Sarwar Buledi Advocate, Maulana Zia-ur-Rehman Tahir, Maulana Abdul Malik Brohi and Humayoon Khan Mandokhel were also present on the occasion.
