Technical And Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) has trained 3047 staff members in a variety of disciplines during 2013-14. These trainings would be reflected in enhanced professional capability of TEVTA teachers for imparting skills to the trainees. Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Shaikh was addressing a meeting here on Tuesday at TEVTA Secretariat. Chief Operating Officer TEVTA Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and other officers of TEVTA were also present on this occasion.
Irfan Qaiser Shaikh said that the focus to arrange the training programs was in line with revised curricula and industrial exposure. 767 staff members had got training in management discipline, 736 teaching staff got training in the area of Pedagogy & Blended learning, 1017 teaching staff as well as supporting staff were imparted IT training, 239 staff members were trained in the area of Skill Up Gradation, 19 teaching staff improves their skill by acquiring English Language training, 15 staff member availed opportunity of foreign training funded by different sponsoring agencies, 122 teaching staff was provided the training in renowned industries for industrial exposure, 62 staff members were trained to serve as Master trainer in the area of GPATI and Blended Learning training, 43 teaching and non-teaching in various disciplines, 27 teaching staff were trained in order to improve entrepreneurship trends in the TVET sector.
Chairperson directed the officers to develop close liaison with the Chambers of Commerce & Industries, Industrial Organisations and associations of concerned sectors so that new courses for second phase may be introduced according to the market trend. These trainings should also be arranged for revised/new curricula so that trainees may get benefit from professional expertise of TEVTA teachers. The trainers may also be given training in different industrial organisations to make them acquainted with the changes in the curricula, he concluded.
