Six alleged criminals killed in two encounters

The city police on Wednesday killed six criminals in two different raids who were allegedly involved in several criminal activities, including targeted killing. According to officials at Gulzar Hijri police station, police on a tip-off conducted a raid in Sachal Goth and killed four robbers who were allegedly busy in looting citizens. Seeing the police, muggers opened fire at police. the police retaliated and killed four robbers.
The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for post-mortem. Their identifications were yet to be ascertained till filing of the report. One of the dacoits managed to flee from the scene. In another incident, a woman was killed and three others were injured in Frontiers Colony. The incident occurred when they were going somewhere by an auto. Suddenly, unidentified men opened indiscriminate firing on them and managed to flee from the scene. The victims were moved to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) for medico-legal formalities and treatment respectively.
In another encounter that took place in Manghopir area, the police killed two targeted killers. The bodies were moved to ASH for post-mortem examinations. Meanwhile, at least eight suspects along with three members of a banned outfit were arrested in various operations of Rangers and Karachi police. The members of the outlawed organisation were nabbed near Mominabad. Further, police held a suspect Farhan in a search operation at Saeedabad and recovered one pipe bomb from his possession.
