Taiwan stocks flat

Taiwan stocks were flat in cautious trading on Monday as many investors stayed on the sideline ahead of key export data. As of 0330 GMT, the main TAIEX index was up 0.01 percent at 9,207.36 points. It ended up 0.2 percent on Friday. Electronics and financial shares, the two most heavily weighted sectors, were down 0.07 percent and 0.01 percent, respectively. The Taiwan dollar rose 0.013 percent at T$31.188 to the US dollar.
At 0800 GMT, after the market closes, the government is due to release November export data, which is crucial to gauge the island's export-driven economy and the demand for global tech gadgets.
