The odour of intolerance and social ailments in society can be rooted out with the fragrance of brotherhood, integrity and patience, says University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan. The VC along with District Co-ordination Officer Noorul Amin Mengal on Friday formally inaugurated a three-day flower exhibition at the UAF.
The exhibition remained a centre of attraction for flower lovers who thronged the varsity to enjoy winter colours. The exhibition was arranged by the Institute of Horticultural Sciences (IHS), UAF. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Iqrar said the exhibition was meant to spread the message of peace and brotherhood in society. He said that intolerance was showing an increasing trend that must be tackled with harmony and love. He said that the varsity's floriculture and landscape experts were providing consultancy to the government and private organisations for the beautification of different cities. He said that the experts had developed a variety of Rosa Sentifolia with amazing fragrance and a large amount of essential contents. He said the UAF had set up a Rosa Lab containing essential oil plants to extract the flower perfume. "We are introducing new fragrance of perfumes including marwa and citrus to promote the technology across the country," he added.
