Google has lately been testing a new feature for its Google keyboard where it will let users send smart replies from various messaging apps.

Google keyboard’s (Gboard) ‘smart’ feature was previously hinted back in January and now new reports suggest that it’s almost done. Gboard has reportedly been testing smart replies for various messaging apps including WhatsApp, Snapchat and Facebook Messenger.

With smart replies, instead of having to type out the entire replies, users can reply instantly with just a tap of a button by choosing from a set of pre-selected messages that are in accordance with the message, reported Ubergizmo.

Gmail’s new update comes with hottest features

To set up the currently developing feature, initially discovered by XDA Developers, requires to first open up a notification that has a quick reply box and then tapping on the suggestion to enable the feature in Gboard’s autocomplete bar. Gboard will then request for permissions to grant access to notifications.

As soon as the user grants permissions, smart replies will be activated for apps including Android Messages, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Facebook Messenger Lite, Snapchat, WeChat, Google Hangouts, and Google Allo.

Gboard is available for both Android and iOS, thus, most of the people can take advantage of the convenient new feature. Unfortunately, it is not yet known when the feature will be made available to all users.

Moreover, smart replies feature has previously already been integrated in Gmail too where it automatically suggests answers for any email.
