British press reports linking West Bromwich Albion's out-of-favour striker Saido Berahino with a move to Liverpool are "entire fabrication", his club declared via Twitter on Tuesday. Burundi-born Berahino, 21, made a stunning start to the season, scoring seven goals in nine Premier League games and earning a call-up to the England squad. He subsequently lost his place in the team due to a decision by manager Alan Irvine, who was sacked on Monday, and has been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
But in a statement on their official Twitter page, West Brom wrote: "OK time to clear a few things up. One final time, this Berahino to @LFC story for £23m ($35.8 million, 29.4 million euros) is and always has been an entire fabrication..." West Brom are currently looking for a new manager following Irvine's dismissal, which came after the club slipped to 16th place in the table.
