The Supreme Court was informed on Wednesday that offer letters for appointment of most of the Lady Health Workers (LHWs), Lady Health Supervisors (LHSs) and drivers have been sent through the district health officers in pursuance of the court directives.
Filing a concise statement on the matter in the apex court, Sindh Health Secretary Alamuddin Bullo said that a report has been submitted after getting feedback of all District Health Officers/Co-ordinators, who have been given appointment offer letters of LHWS, LHSs and drivers for regularisation of their services from July 1, 2012.
The Secretary further submitted that the report was based on letters/certificates issued by all District Health Officers/ Co-ordinators regarding the provision of offer letters for appointments on the basis of regularisation of their services.
According to the report, offer letters were provided to the paramedical staff in 22 districts of Sindh through the concerned officials, including Jamshoro, Jacobabad, Shahdadkot at Kamber, Ghotki, Mirpur Mathelo, Karachi, Tharparkar at Mithi, Sanghar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Tando Allahyar, Tando Muhammad Khan, Naushahro Feroze, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur, Shikarpur, Hyderabad, Matiari, Badin, Dadu and Kashmore at Kandkot districts.
The report said that only 07 Lady Health Workers offer letters out of 725 from Ghotki District and one Lady Health Supervisor has not been issued by the Provincial Co-ordinator of National Program for Family Planning & Primary Health Care, Sindh. From Umerkot District 04 offer letters of Lady Health Workers and 04 letters of Lady Health Supervisors would be delivered after making some corrections in these offer letters, the report concluded.
