The federal government on Friday filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking early hearing of the Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi case. The Interior Minister has challenged the Islamabad High Court suspension of Lakhvi's detention order, who is alleged mastermind of the Mumbai attacks. On December 29, the Islamabad High Court had suspended the notification for detention of Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi in the Mumbai attacks case. Soon after the Attorney General office challenged the IHC order in the Supreme Court and has filed application for early hearing of the matter.
