Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has urged the Federal Ministry of Shipping and Ports to take immediate measure to get goods carrier ship 'Santa Rosa-065E' cleared that is stuck in the UAE for last four months. The LCCI Vice President Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi in a statement on Friday said that ship held almost 1045 containers of Pakistani companies loaded with raw material, food items and other tradable goods worth billion rupees.
He said that businessmen are in deep trouble due to non-shipment of their raw material and goods. He said if raw material and goods of Pakistani companies are not cleared immediately it would not hit the Pakistani businessmen hard but national exchequer would also be facing revenue loss of Rs 5 to 6 billion. He demanded of the Ministry of Shipping and Ports should take notice of the situation and take urgent measures to get the ship cleared from UAE.
