Provision of drinking water: Shahbaz says there's comprehensive plan

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that potable water is the right of every citizen and the Punjab government has made a comprehensive planning for the provision of drinking water to the masses. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting here on Friday, which reviewed the pace of progress on Saaf Pani Project and Water Filtration Plants Programme, disclosed an official.
Provincial Minister for Housing Tanveer Aslam Malik, Chairperson Saaf Pani Project Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha, MPA, Chairman Planning and Development, concerned secretaries and senior officers were present in the meeting. Addressing the meeting, he said that billions of rupees are being spent on the provision of potable water to the citizens. "Saaf Pani Project is of vital importance and this project of public welfare should be implemented speedily," he added. He also said resources are a trust of the nation and the government is utilising all out funds on provision of basic amenities to the citizens. "Modern water filtration plants are being installed for the provision of potable water to the masses," he added.
