LCCI greets FPCCI's new leadership

The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has congratulated the newly elected President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Mian Muhammad Idrees. LCCI President Ijaz A Mumtaz in a statement on Friday expressed the optimism that FPCCI new leadership would strengthen liaison with all the members to achieve the larger goal of economic progress and prosperity.
He also hoped that FPCCI President Mian Muhammad Idrees and other VPs will take up the issues being faced by the trade, industry and economy with the government. He said FPCCI leadership should initiate work in collaboration with the member bodies to help government overcome energy challenge.
LCCI president also urged the FPCCI to play its significant role for early construction of Kalabagh Dam which is must for the manufacturing and agriculture sectors of the country. He said that FPCCI should also help government to give required boost to economic activities that are a prerequisite to expedite local investment and attract foreign investors. He said that he understands well that there is no overnight solution of the problems but definitely there is a dire need to set a direction.
Ijaz A Mumtaz said that political stability can only come with political maturity. "We must be sincere in our decisions and prepare ourselves for some real hard work. Decisions based on vested interests must be shed and merit and sincerity must prevail in all cases. Institutions of accountability such as the judiciary and the press must be strengthened," he added.
