Professor Vohra said that PGMI has been serving since 41 years and it is the only medical institute in Punjab which is being attended by national as well as international students for specialised medical courses.
He further said that PGMI doctors have rendered their services in medical and educational fields both in Pakistan and abroad. The names of the successful candidates have been launched at website of PGMI, he added. Dengue training has been made compulsory for new admission holders which would continue till January 31. Those doctors who will not join within 15 days after commencement of classes would lose their admissions, he mentioned.
He said that it is due to impressive reputation of PGMI that record 2,200 doctors have applied for admission this year and only those candidates have been entertained who meet the merit. He told that 250 admission holders belong to private sector while remaining 60 are working in government hospitals. He said that PGMI provides a high standard research lab to its students which help them to remain in contact with foreign medical experts to keep abreast with advancements in medical field. He hoped that PGMI doctors would continue serving ailing humanity according to best of their abilities and knowledge.
