Islamabad police to introduce smart phone-based emergency alert system

Islamabad police is all set to introduce smart phone based emergency alert system as a part of efforts to ensure effective security of schools as well as hospitals situated in Islamabad Capital Territory. The access to this smart phone based system will be given to the administrative staff of 422 government and 1200 private schools, colleges as well as universities.
IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan is reviewing arrangements to design and deploy this state of art system and directions have been conveyed to IT department for making this system functional before opening of the educational institutions by January 12, 2015. The system will be directly connected to the Police Control, Rescue 15 and with numbers of senior officers. Administration of the institutions will be able to send emergency alert in no time in case of any unwanted situation.
Tahir Alam Khan said that security of Islamabad has been enhanced and various teams headed by 37 DSP/Inspectors will co-ordinate with the administration of educational institutions to brief all stakeholders according to present security situation. The IGP said that Islamabad police have decided to introduce this mobile and software based logging service with a purpose to ensure better use of latest technology in security affairs. He said Islamabad police will be the pioneer police force to use this modern technology for security related issues. He said Islamabad police would be made more responsive through introduction of this strictly supervised tool and its efficiency towards security matter will improve.-PR
