Facebook publicly revealed on Monday about a bug on the social media platform and Messenger that unblocked few people users had already blocked.
Addressing over 800,000 users in its blog post, the company admitted and apologized that there was a bug in Facebook and Messenger that unblocked some of the blocked people. The bug, though now resolved, was active from between May 29 and June 5.

The unblocked people were not able to see content shared by friends but were able to see content posted for a wider audience, like friends of friends. Also, the bug did not re-establish friend connections that were previously unfriended. The 83% users affected by the bug had only one person temporarily unblocked who were able to connect via Messenger.
Making an apology for the bug, Facebook informed that the issue has now been resolved and all those unblocked people have been blocked again. The affected people will get a notification that will encourage users to review their blocked list.
