Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) has asked consumers for conserving maximum energy in the current power shortage to provide stable power supply to all the consumers. In a statement issued here Sunday, a spokesman of the power distribution company has said that the current energy crisis can be overcome only with the help of the co-operation of customers.
He said that PESCO is taking all possible steps to overcome the energy crisis, however public is also requested, to conserve energy by means of less consumption, especially during the peak hours; petrol pumps, plazas and jewellers shops should avoid use of decorative lights.
Similarly, the domestic consumers are also requested to use energy savers instead of bulbs and must press their clothes in day time so that energy could be saved. He said that the usage of energy savers could save 80% electricity.
The lighting of 100 watts 4 bulbs consumes 42 units in a month while energy savers consume only 9 units. Similarly illegal use of Electricity also creates power shortage and power distribution system is hence severely over loaded.
