Number of missing persons in Balochistan: Supreme Court seeks detailed report within ten days

Supreme Court on Monday directed the federal government to submit a detailed report within ten days about the number of missing persons and the procedure of handing over the mutilated bodies to their near and dear ones in Balochistan. A two-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja was hearing the case of missing persons.
Appearing before the bench, chairman Voice of Balochistan Missing Persons (VBMP) Nasrullah Baloch told the bench that mutilated bodies' are being buried in haste and there is no procedure to identify them. Justice Khawaja said that the government must inform the apex court about the procedure in identifying the mutilated bodies that are being recovered in different parts of the restive province. Justice Khawaja also said that according to media reports Punjab tops the list as far missing persons are concerned, adding the government should take effectives measures about recovery of the missing persons. The hearing was adjourned for two weeks.
