ATCs award life-imprisonment to 10 criminals

Anti Terrorist Courts of Lahore, Sargodha and Dera Ghazi Khan have awarded life-imprisonment to ten criminals of high profile cases during the current week. Special Assistant to Chief Minister Rana Maqbool Ahmad has awarded commendatory certificates to the prosecutors of three districts for their extraordinary performance. Judge Anti-Terrorist Court-III, Lahore Haroon Latif awarded imprisonment of a total of 38 years each to Tariq and Zia-ur-Rehman of banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan for keeping explosive material.
Anti Terrorist Court Sargodha awarded life imprisonment to Muhammad Hanif alias Meera and an imprisonment of 14 years to Noor Muhammad besides confiscation of property for possessing explosive material. They were arrested at Musa Khel. The same court has also given a 14-year imprisonment to Abdul Samad who was arrested at Kundian, besides confiscation of his property. The court also announced a three-year imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 to a person for keeping provocative literature in Darya Khan. Anti Terrorist Court Dera Ghazi Khan awarded life imprisonment to five including Fahad, Suleman, Riaz, Fateh Muhammad and Muhammad Iqbal for torturing an under-custody accused to death.
