Pakistan Muslim League (PML) senior central leader and former Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has said that govt schools for the children of the poor were without security guards, cameras and even some without boundary walls and remain unsafe despite all tall claims of the CM Punjab.
He felt much concerned on noticing highly defective security situation during his visit to Government Higher Secondary School Kathala near Gujrat on Wednesday. Chaudhry Parvez Elahi saw there no security guard; nor cameras were installed, and main outer wall was not there. Talking to the students' parents, Elahi said that Shahbaz Sharif was wasting public funds on unproductive and cheap publicity schemes such as lap top and Jungla Buses (Metro Bus) in stead of security of the poor students.
He claimed that Sharif was making tall claims about security on the media that everything has been set right whereas in reality his performance was just zero. Due to defective security arrangements lives of millions of students of thousands of government schools were at stake, if God-forbid any terrorist activity occurred then who will be responsible for that? Contrary to all tall claims of the govt he had not seen anything like security in any school.
Kathala Higher Security School students told him that there was no security arrangement whatsoever but they were not afraid of terrorists and will continue their studies with greater attention and devotion in a determined manner. Expressing their apprehensions about security, parents of the students said that none was bothered about well-being of the children studying in the govt schools. They said that his (Chaudhry Parvez Elahi) tenure special attention was paid to provision of educational facilities and buildings of the schools and college in the education sector, children given free books and stipend but now the govt was not paying any attention in this regard.
