"Punjab government is taking revolutionary steps for the redressal of grievances of overseas Pakistanis on priority basis. A high level commission has been constituted and CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif will supervise the working of the commission." These views were expressed by Commissioner Overseas Pakistanis Punjab Muhammad Afzal Bhatti in a meeting held at the DCO Office here on Wednesday where he was briefed about the functioning of the facilitation centre.
Vice Chairman Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Khalid Shaheen Butt and other officers were also present on the occasion. Muhammad Afzal Bhatti said that CM is taking keen interest to solve the problems of overseas Pakistanis. He said that facilitation centre for Overseas Pakistanis established in the District Co-ordination Officer's office is a system to resolve the problems of overseas Pakistanis at the fast track. He said that this facilitation centre for Overseas Pakistanis in Jhelum is a model and more centres will be established at the district level across the Punjab so that overseas Pakistanis could be encouraged to make investments in their motherland and their problems could be resolved at the fast track. While giving briefing, the DCO Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghumman informed that the facilitation centre was inaugurated in May 2014, and it received 106 complaints from overseas Pakistanis till December 2014.
