Pakistan is facing serious challenges to deliver essential services to poor communities due to low GDP ratio to tax. It was stated by Tariq Sattar, Advocacy Officer of The Network for Consumer Protection during training on tax advocacy programme. The main purpose of this training is to create awareness on the tax advocacy, unfair taxation, inequality in society and need of the day is fair Pakistan tax movement to even it up. More than 15 civil society organisations were participated in training.
Syed Akhtar, Project Officer, The Network for Consumer Protection said that it is need of hour to reform tax system to broadening the tax base, because of inefficacy of tax authorities tax-payers are facing problems, inequality is increasing in country due to unfair taxation. During training various lectures were delivered on the theme of Tax Justice in Pakistan. At the end of the training, certificates were distributed among participants.
