The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Nasir Khan Durrani paid a surprise visit to different educational institutions of Peshawar on Wednesday to review the security arrangements made by the schools and colleges in the aftermath of the unfortunate attack on APS Peshawar in the recent past.
During his visit to the Government High School for Boys No 2 Peshawar, the IGP inspected the security arrangements made by the school administration. Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar and Principal of the school briefed the IGP on the arrangements made in light of the security guidelines issued by KP Police. The police chief visited different class rooms and had an informal interaction with the students and teachers.
After his visit to the Government High School for Boys, the police chief visited the Frontier Women College Peshawar where he reviewed the security arrangements and had an informal interaction with the students and school teachers. In his interactions with the students and teachers, the IGP KP praised their resilience and resolve. The IGP briefed the students about the SOS Alert Service that is being installed in all educational institutions.
On the request of Principal Frontier Women College to organize rescue and tactics training for the students and staff, the IGP directed CCPO Peshawar to arrange arms and tactics training on the pattern of erstwhile NCC training for the students and teachers in Police Lines Peshawar. The IGP KP also urged the students and teachers to keep a close watch on their surroundings both at schools and their homes and to inform police about any suspicious activities observed by them.
