The Central Shoora of the Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan has impressed upon the United Nations and other international bodies to exert diplomatic and economic pressure on India forcing her to recall her troops from Kashmir and honour her pledge regarding the right of self determination to the Kashmiris.
A resolution adopted by the Shoora expressed grave concern over the backing of the Indian agencies to the terrorist and subversive activities in Pakistan and her construction of dams to deprive this country of her river waters share. It urged the government to reiterate its principled stance on Kashmir and continue its support to the liberation struggle of the Kashmiris.
Through another resolution, the Shoora demanded that all foreign troops must leave Afghanistan.
It noted that the US President had earlier announced total withdrawal from the neighbouring country but under an agreement with the new Afghan rulers, it would still keep military bases and combating force in the country. The Shoora said that ever since the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979 followed by the US and Nato attack in 2001, the Muslim country had under gone total devastation.
