Pakistan Standards and Quality Control Authority (PSQCA) sealed an 'unlicensed' bottled drinking water factory. Abdul Waheed Memon, Media advisor PSQCA while talking to Business Recorder said the raid was conducted by Conformity Assessment team at the factory 'Purolite' in Jamshed Town, Block-5 a few days ago.
He said that the had seized some brands of unlicensed bottle drinking water such as Sooper, Labake, G.G. Gold, Kiswa Drinking and Aab-e-Rahi during the raid and sealed the factory.
"PSQCA every now and then advised the producers and manufacturers of the factory to stop illegal production, and apply for the grant of license to the authority but it is regretted to say that they did not take this advise seriously and were using the Authority's mark without authorisation and without having CA-License on their products," Waheed said.
Drinking water is compulsory product among PSQCA's 78 mandatory items. Besides an SRO notified by the government states manufacturing, sealing and stock of bottled drinking water is prohibited without license of PSQCA, he added.
