Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Sunday asked the federal government not to be in any delusion that PTI will back off from its demand for constitution of a judicial commission to investigate rigging in last general elections.
However, he made it clear that PTI will continue to support the federal government in the ongoing war against terrorism.
Addressing PTI's sit-in convention here, he said that PTI would now fully concentrate on development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to make it a model for other provinces particularly by spending more on human resource development including health, education and dispensation of justice and through devolution of power by holding local bodies' elections.
Imran Khan reiterated his stance that worst rigging took place in May 2013 general elections. He said that there were ample proofs of rigging in those constituencies, which were audited so far.
"If the PML-N government did not constitute Judicial Commission for probe into rigging in 2013 general elections, the PTI has the capacity to bring each and every city to a complete standstill," he threatened.
The PTI Chief vowed that PTI would now fully concentrate on development of KP.
"We will focus on merit in the government institutions and change the administrative system in hospitals by giving them autonomy. For the first time, public sector educational institution will be in a position to compete with private sector institutions," he said.
He said that police would be politicised in KP.
The PTI Chief said that cleanliness drive would be launched in every city of the province. He added that one billion saplings to be planted in the province in one year, as the jungles of the province are vanishing with each passing day.
"We are ready for holding local bodies' elections in KP but the delay is due to Election Commission of Pakistan. We will devolve powers to village level through LB elections. The development funds will be given to local representatives of the people instead of MNAs and MPAs," he said.
He also announced to re-organise the party at district level and hold party election after completion of the membership drive.
