Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that Shaheed Fazil Rahu had sacrificed his life for the cause of democracy, elimination of poverty and raising voice for the rights of farmers and the PML-led government would take all steps to fulfil his mission. He said this in a statement which was read by his Advisor on Political Affairs, Dr Asif Kirmani on the occasion of 28th death anniversary of Shaheed Fazal Rahu held at Rahuki on Saturday.
Prime Minister said in the statement that the government has decided to bring all terrorists to justice. "We have taken into confidence all stakeholders including political parties and parliamentarians to take this decision," he added.
The government would implement this decision and the issues of harmony among people of various schools of thought would also be resolved, the Prime Minister said.
The whole nation is supporting the government and armed forced to bring terrorists to justice, who attacked the army public school at Peshawar, he said.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that all conspiracies against democracy being hatched would be foiled.
The government would make all efforts to eradicate the poverty from Sindh and KPK provinces, he said adding in addition to this, the government was trying to resolve all other issues in the country. He would have participated in the anniversary as scheduled earlier but could not do so due to official visit to Saudi Arabia.
On the occasion, Chairman PML-N, Raja Zafar-ul-Haq said that the government was making all efforts to provide justice and ensure peace and development.
"If any girl of Sindh is victimised in the province, the government would take all steps to deliver justice to her," he added.
"Ismail Rahu was the PML-N President Sindh Chapter," he said adding the PML-N became very strong in the province under his leadership.
Central Secretary General PML-N, Iqbal Zafar Jhagara said that Shaheed Fazal Rahu always raised the voice for democracy and he was remembered as the father of democracy. He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also fought for democracy in the country.
Expressing serious concerns over Peshawar school incident, he said that children killed in Peshawar incident sacrificed their lives and the nation has united at one forum to fight against the terrorists. He said that the day was not far when the country would be free of terrorism.
President PML-N Sindh and son of Shaheed Fazal Rahu, Ismail Rahu, Chief of QAT, Ayaz Latif Palijo, State Minister Abdul Hakeem Baloch, MPA Sindh Assembly Sorath Thebo and other PML-N leaders paid rich tribute to Shaheed Fazal Rahu while speaking on the occasion.
