Pakistan Internat-ional Airlines on Monday dispelled the impression that the airline has suspended its flight operations to New Delhi, saying that there is no imminent threat to close its flight operations to the city. A spokesman for PIA, Hanif Rana, said that national flag carrier has been maintaining its offices and business in New Delhi for more than three decades and in 2005, the airline had acquired immovable property for running its offices there.
He confirmed that PIA had completed all necessary formalities for the acquisition of these properties. Moreover, he said that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) through a letter, dated November 24, 2014, had objected that PIA purchased these properties in New Delhi in 2005 without the RBI''s permission after a period of over nine years. He further said that PIA was taking all necessary measures to safeguard and protect its assets and there is no imminent threat to close PIA''s flight operations to New Delhi.
