The Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (IED) will launch a policy brief entitled "Transforming Pedagogues: Emerging Contexts and Texts of Teaching Learning" on Tuesday (January 20) to discuss and develop the best ways forward for education in emergencies from a Pakistan perspective. The policy brief is being launched in collaboration with the Department for International Development, United Kingdom.
An official of IED said that since many out-of-school children in Pakistan live in conflict-affected areas, prioritising education for these children was imperative to meet the education targets. Key stakeholders from the public and private sectors, including government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), educational institutions, scholars, researchers and teachers will analyse the brief and try to find answers to certain questions and to chalk out a strategy for developing teachers' skills so that they could address emergency situations. The speakers would also discuss curriculum for children of conflict-affected areas.
