Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) under the Chairmanship of Dr Hammad Uwais Agha, Additional Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, while considering 49 development projects approved 46 with an estimated cost Rs12.469 billion. The meeting was attended by the Administrative Secretaries of P&DD, C&W, E&SE, Higher Education, Sports and Tourism, LG&RD, Irrigation, ST&IT, Social Welfare, Industries and senior staff of P&D and line departments.
Approval of three projects was deferred with the instruction to the secretary concerned to further work on the project design and costing to ensure smooth implementation and their completion by the target date. The Higher Education Department was directed to conduct assessment of all the universities in the province to facilitate the decision-maker for allocating development funds on the basis of performance and requirement.
The Social Welfare Department was directed to give due share to the backward and southern districts under the project for establishment of Dastakari Centres. With regard to Office Automation Project, a committee was constituted to scrutinise the project and remove overlapping with the ongoing and recently completed projects.
Fazal Abad Maday Baba Road District Mardan was referred to the DG M&E for providing a report regarding improper maintenance and repair. The PDWP will meet again on 28th January 2015 to clear backlog of unapproved schemes under ADP 2014-15 which has considerably delayed due to preparation of PC-1s by the consultants. The Administrative Secretaries were directed to ensure submission of all pending PC-1s.
