Elders from Malikdin Khel tribe of Khyber Agency urged the government to ensure safe and early return of IDPs to areas cleared by security forces in Tehsil Bara, Khyber Agency and also urged to announce a comprehensive package for rehabilitation of infrastructure and other facilities to militancy affected tribal people in the Agency. The demand was made by an elder from Malikdin Khel tribe and JI Ameer, Mohammad Farooq Afridi while addressing at news conference here on Thursday.
Flanked by the tribal elders Haji Hazar Gul Afridi, Mohammad Saeed, Nuaman Khan, Saifur Rehman, and others, he said the tribesmen have been faced with miserable conditions due to prolonged security forces operations in Khyber Agency. He said the education and health facilities along with road infrastructure had been completely razed in the Agency. "Our children have been deprived from education facility, as fled to safer places in wake of the security forces action," Afridi said. He further said education activities are yet not resumed in the Government Degree College Kohi Sher, which is providing education facility for more than 5,000 students.
He said the government and concerned authorities have completely failed to mitigate the sufferings of the tribal people of the Agency. Tribesmen also urged the government to immediate announce a comprehensive compensation package for rehabilitation, provision of education and health facilities, along with Shuhada package for the IDPs of Tehsil Bara, Khyber Agency.
