Member Administration and Estate, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Amer Ali Ahmed on Sunday said that CDA would not only ensure the provision of quality vegetables, fruits and other edible items of daily usage at CDA's weekly bazaars but also ensure the excess availability of these items.
He directed the CDA's weekly bazaar administration to ensure supply items at prescribed affordable rates, says a press release issued here. Amer Ali said this while chairing a meeting held at CDA headquarters to assess the demand and supply of daily use items being provided at CDA's weekly bazaars. The meeting was attended by the Director Security and other relevant officers of the Authority.
He was apprised that bazaar administration is executing a successful and result oriented push to ensure availability of fresh and hygienic fruits and vegetables in the weekly bazaars at cheaper rates. Resultantly, fruits and vegetables are being sold in the CDA's weekly bazaars at rates lower than rates at markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. While giving comparative analysis of the rates Member Administration and Estate was informed that that Potato, Onion, Tomato, Ginger, Peas, Carrot, Bell pepper, Pomegranate, Guava and Orange were sold at Rs 40, 30, 60, 240, 90, 40, 140, 380, 100 and 120 per kg / dozen respectively in other markets of Islamabad while these commodities were sold at Rs 25, 25, 40, 116, 60, 24, 56, 180, 60 and 80 per kg / dozen respectively in CDA weekly bazaars in Islamabad last week.
Amer Ali directed the bazaar Administration not only to ensure the provision of quality food items at affordable rates but take effective security measures to avoid any untoward incident.
