LEAs' atrocities on Mohajirs: MRC demands HR bodies to take notice

29 Jan, 2015

The Mohajir Rabita Council (MRC) Central Executive Committee (CEC) had expressed grave concern over raids on Mohajir residential colonies, arrest of the innocent Mohajir youth and minting millions from the families of the arrested for their safe release by the Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Police.
The MRC CEC said the law enforcement authorities, Rangers and Police had been humiliating Mohajirs during raids and after during interrogation after taking them to Police stations or any other detention centre. The law enforcers had violated the sanctity of privacy and manhandled the ladies during raids. Despite complaints time and again the federal and provincial Ministers ignored the dire situation, which was tantamount to encouraging the law enforcers.
On the other hand, the provincial Ministers of PPP-led Sindh government left no opportunity for maligning Mohajirs and subjecting them to severe humiliation on the floor of Sindh assembly. The MRC CEC asked the non-Mohajir personnel of Rangers and Police to stop humiliating Mohajir youth and women or else Mohajir would be compelled to hold them accountable for their ill manners and wrong-doings without fearing what price they would have to pay again. The MRC CEC demanded the organisations of human rights within the country and at international level to take immediate notice of the atrocities on Mohajirs by the LEAs based on ethnic bias.
