Fifteen forests officers suspended

The KP government has suspended 15 Forests officers including Chief Conservator of Forests, Sardar Sultan, Conservator of Forests Raja Imtiaz, DFO Amjad Samad and 12 others for their inability to protect cutting of hundreds of pine trees in Massar forests of Siran division of district Mansehra and their active connivance with timber mafia.
Director Anti-Corruption has been asked to initiate action against the accused officers under the relevant section of law in order to discourage and curb illegal cutting of forest. To implement policy of provincial government for green and clean Khyber Pakhtunkhwa various initiatives have been taken which include plantation of one billion trees. Taking cognisance of massive cutting of forest, Amjad Ali Khan, KP Chief Secretary directed secretary Forests to personally visit the illegally cut forests where hundreds of trees were found cut illegally.
