A major terror bid was foiled on Wednesday when bomb disposal squad (BDS) defused a bomb near police checkpoint in Bannu. According to security sources, unknown miscreants had planted a 6 kg bomb near a police checkpoint in Mandan Gate area on Railway Road. The bomb disposal squad was immediately called in and the area was cordoned off when police spotted the bomb. Experts neutralised the bomb averting a major disaster in the town.
