FPCCI chief lauds role of Faisalabad business leaders

Mian Muhammad Adrees, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI), has said that elections of the FPCCI have paved way to reorganise the business community at national level and hoped that business leaders from Faisalabad and other small cities would exploit this national platform for the redressal of their genuine issues and problems.
Speaking a reception hosted in his honour by the Anjuman-e-Tajran of Old Electric Motor Market, Jhang Road, Faisalabad, he thanked the business community for reposing confidence in him. He specifically lauded the role of business leaders of Faisalabad during the election process of FPCCI and said that they have played an instrumental role in his success.
He said that his election to the office of President of FPCCI was a privilege and pride for Faisalabad as he belongs to this city. He assured the business community to serve them with renewed vigor and commitment, adding that it was imperative to bring good name for this city.
Continuing, he said that local businessmen have excelled in their specific fields, but now he wants that they should come out of the cocoon of Faisalabad and play their role at the national level in best interest of the country. He said that Faisalabad has made marvellous growth without political patronage. Similarly, the businessmen of this city have earned name at the international level only due to their God-gifted business acumen and entrepreneurship. He said the role of such visionary, honest and committed businessmen at the national level will certainly have a salutary impact on the national economy and "we shall be able to achieve the cherished objectives of progress and prosperity".
He said the FPCCI was hijacked by the "Qabza mafia" and "we have successfully and democratically kicked it out to open its door for the genuine business leaders and now it was fully prepared to play its role to facilitate the business community and put the economy on the right track. He said that it was in this context that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has rang him up and requested to help the government in economic reformation.
"Revival of Economy is our common objective," he said and added that the FPCCI has already declared 2015 as year for the revival of economy with series of measures to correct economic irritants and anomalies. Mian Muhammad Adrees once again lauded the contributions of the local business community and hoped that now they would enlarge spectrum of their services to lead the business community of Pakistan.
Mian Abdul Mannan, MNA, in his brief address said that all government departments and officials are meant to serve the people and they have to deliver otherwise they would not be allowed to sit on cozy chairs at government expenses. He also expressed satisfaction over the success of Mian Muhammad Adrees in the FPCCI election and said that he was a pride for Faisalabad and "we must give him a free hand to lead and resolve problems of the business community during his stay in this apex body of the businessmen.
Mian Javed Iqbal said that the National Group had forged unity in businessmen of Faisalabad and they all were brought within the fold of FCCI. Now the United Business Group has won election of the FPCCI and was making strenuous efforts to forge unity among them at the national level. "Unity among the business community is imperative to solve their problems in addition to putting country on road to progress and prosperity".
Regarding local issues of the motor market, he said that representatives of this association should be given due representation in various committees and advisory board of the Faisalabad Dry Port Trust and the Customs to discuss and resolve their day to day problems amicably.
Rizwan Ashraf, President of FCCI, said the business community was lucky to have a committed leadership in the form of Mian Muhammad Adrees. He has elevated the name of Faisalabad and brought laurels for this city at national and international level. Now the business community of Faisalabad can not be ignored or sidelined by the national policy matters, he said and added that election of Mian Muhammad Adrees was a good omen and will help to redress their genuine grievances without any delay.
Earlier a red carpet reception was accorded to Mian Muhammad Adrees on his arrival. Seth Tufail Group Leader and Mian Muhammad Saeed, President of Anjuman-e-Tajran Old Motor Market, welcomed the guests. A colorful display of fireworks enthralled the participants while Mian Muhammad Adrees was taken to the venue of reception in a well-decorated Bugghi.
