Emergency in Sindh no solution to current situation: Sharjeel Memon

Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Memon here on Monday said that imposition of emergency in the province can be no solution to the current situation as the entire nation is united against terrorists. While talking to media prior to commencement of provincial Assembly session, he said all agencies of the country are equally engaged in quelling unscrupulous elements and for early restoration of law and order situation.
Citing Shikarpur incident as a national tragedy, he said the entire country has been engulfed into terrorism related activities. To a query, the Minister said that previously law enforcers were engaged in providing security cover to the Namazis offering prayers at mosques now there is need to keep vigil on educational institutions besides other sensitive installations.
Sindh Minister for Information said MQM's demand for imposition of emergency in the province holds no relevance as our forces, Rangers and Army are jointly handling the situation. To a query regarding investigation of the Shikarpur incident, he said culprits would soon be apprehended and those behind them would also be nabbed. About no cases referred to the military court by the Sindh government, he said this is federal government's prerogative. Regarding attempts to make Arbab Ghulam Rahim the new leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly, he said MPAs are free to make their choice.
