The Traffic Police of Karachi have changed the colour and design of the uniform of the traffic cops. The new uniform comprised grey trouser and white shirt with grey cuffs and collar. Earlier, Additional Inspector General of Traffic Police (Karachi) Ghulam Qadir Thebo moved a summary to this effect to the Sindh Home Department.
In this regard, several meetings were convened wherein best designers were invited for discussion. Later, they came to a conclusion that the pants of traffic police uniform would be changed to grey colour, while the shirts would remain white. The decision to keep the shirt's colour white was taken due to the fact that some areas did not have streetlights and the cops performing duty during night hours should remain visible to the motorists after sunset, DIG Hanif maintained. The summary to change the colour and design of traffic police uniform was first sent to Addl IG Traffic Ghulam Qadir Thebo who forwarded it to the Sindh Home Department on Wednesday.
