Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Thursday met a delegation of All Parties Hurriyat Conference here at the Assembly Secretariat. The delegation comprised Yousuf Naseem, Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Mahmood Ahmed Saghar and Rafique Ahmed Dar. The Prime Minister said Pakistan was committed to a just and peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute on the basis of the United Nations Security Council resolutions. He paid tribute to the valiant spirit of the people of Kashmir, who had refused to be buckled under intense repressive measures for more than 65 years.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan firmly believed that only a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir issue could bring lasting peace to the region. Hurriyat leaders expressed the confidence that the Government of Pakistan would continue to support the just cause of Kashmiris at international forums.
They thanked the Prime Minister for visiting the AJK Capital on this day to express solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Barjees Tahir, Chairman Kashmir Committee Maulana Fazlur Rahman, AJK President Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan and Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, Speaker AJK Legislative Assembly Sardar Ghulam Sadiq and Leader of the Opposition Raja Farooq Haider were also present during the meeting.
