World Bank mission visits Punjab''s land record

A World Bank mission visited the Land Record Centre Lahore Cant, said the spokesperson of Project Management Unit (PMU), Board of Revenue Punjab. The Mission was comprised Edward Cook, Igor Popiv, Tony Burns, Ms Samina Islam. Captain Zafar Iqbal, Deputy Project Director Project Management Unit-Board of Revenue Punjab, briefed the mission about progress and new initiatives in Computerisation of Land Records in Punjab.
He said that computerised land record services have been commenced in 143 Tehsils of Punjab through which fard is issued in 30 minutes and mutation is attested in just 50 minutes. The mission observed the process of service delivery and interacted with the customers, who were getting services in the centre. The mission was told that more than 99 percent of the beneficiaries are satisfied with the services. The mission was apprised that PMU has achieved all the targets, agreed with the World Bank in time.
The Mission endorsed the vision of Honourable Chief Minister Punjab that LRMIS will lead to beat corruption and promote transparency and will facilitate the public. The Mission expressed their gratitude for the interest and efforts being made by the Chief Minister Punjab for timely and successful implementation of the project and appreciated the support and commitment rendered by the Government of Punjab towards the Project. The mission was highly impressed by the performance and level of professionalism of PMU staff.
