The Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) has conducted prize distribution ceremony for the winners of the Virtual Investment Competition. It was fourth session of the Financial Literacy Initiative-campus outreach programme that was held in collaboration with the South Asian Federation of Exchanges here Friday.
A sum of Rs 92,000 was sponsored by the ACCA Global Pakistan to be distributed amongst the top ten winners. Cash prize of Rs 20,000 goes to Sarfraz Ahmed Ghumro, student of Sukkur IBA whereas cash prizes of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000, Rs 5,000 and Rs 5,000, Rs 5,000, Rs 5,000, Rs 5,000, Rs 5,000, Rs 5,000 goes to Asif Manzoor, Muhammad Shahbaz, Ali Raza Saeed, Muhammad Hassam Naveed, Mubashar Azeem, Fahad Ali Salik, Mustafa Ali, Abdullah and Rinkal Rani, respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) Managing Director and Secretary General SAFE Aftab Ahmad Chaudhry said that with running of two regular programmes, ie Campus Outreach Programmes and Investor Awareness programmes, LSE shall fulfil the objectives of Corporate Social Responsibility of our Exchange. He encouraged the contestants to utilise the learning gained from these sessions and apply their understanding by entering the capital markets.
He also added that LSE has observed records of students who have already entered into the capital market through the recent IPOs taken place. He urged the new comers to come forward and explore the returns that the capital markets offer; provided, that the new comers continue to enhance their knowledge and understanding through LSE's Corporate Communications programmes such as Investors Education, Financial Literacy and the Corporate Briefing Programme, Aftab assured that LSE would extend maximum guidance to the new investors through these programmes.
