One person was shot dead outside a party in Los Angeles attended by two rappers in contention at Sunday's Grammy Awards, police and the venue said. At least two suspects opened fire outside the night-club late Saturday in the heart of Hollywood, police said.
A man, whose identity was not immediately released, was shot and died of his injuries at a hospital. There were no immediate arrests, police spokeswoman Nuria Vanegas said.
The venue, Supperclub, had earlier on Twitter said that rappers Wiz Khalifa, Schoolboy Q and Snoop Dogg were in attendance.
Schoolboy Q and Wiz Khalifa are both up for Grammys for Best Rap Album in a field that also includes top-selling rapper Eminem as well as Australian newcomer Iggy Azalea.
Schoolboy Q's major-label debut "Oxymoron" opened at number one on the mainstream Billboard album charts. Snoop Dogg was one of the top stars of the Los Angeles-area rap scene in the 1990s but has since branched out into electronic music and acting.
