Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Khawaja Salman Rafiq while visiting Shahbaz Sharif General Hospital and Kidney Centre Multan here on Friday has said that Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif is focusing on large scale reforms in health sector.
He said in order to provide quality treatment facilities to the people of south Punjab, modern hospitals are being established in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan. Secretary Health Jawad Rafiq Malik, DG Health Dr Zahid Pervaiz, DCO Multan Zahid Saleem Gondal, EDO Health Dr Iftikhar Qureshi and other concerned officers were also present, a spokesman of Health department said.
Rafiq inspected construction work of both the hospitals and directed that Kidney Centre should be made functional within six weeks. DCO Multan and EDO Health briefed on both the projects. They stated that medical equipment and machinery have reached the site and installation work is being carried out on priority basis. Kh Salman Rafiq and Jawad Rafiq Malik visited operation theatres, wards, laboratories and X-ray rooms and expressed their satisfaction over the work being done.
Rafiq said that CM himself will inaugurate both the projects in near future. He further said that in order to provide quality treatment facilities to the people, primary and secondary healthcare is being reformed and solid steps have been taken by the government for this purpose.
