Netflix has announced that by the end of July, users will no longer be able to leave any reconsideration on the movies or the web series they have watched.
The American streaming service began notifying members who’ve used the feature recently that they will no longer be able to write reviews by the end of July. From August, the reviews will disappear altogether. “This feature is only offered on the website and has seen declining usage over time,” Netflix said in a statement explaining its decision, CNET reported.
Netflix had also unfastened another rating feature last year which was five-star rating system, which was less prominent throughout the media company and didn’t influence Netflix endorsement to its subscribers.
Netflix replaced its traditional five-star rating system with a simple thumbs up or thumbs down system to make it easier for users to quickly give their opinions regarding a show or movie.
The review system has only been available via the desktop version of the service — and from most accounts, it’s been fairly under used of late. Once it’s gone, however, the thumbs up/down will remain intact.
