Activities at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 115,646 tonnes of cargo comprising 58,773 tonnes of import cargo and 56,873 tonnes of export cargo including 3,534 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 58,773 tonnes comprised of 16,550 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,797 tonnes of general cargo; 23,415 tonnes of bulk cargo: 17,347 tonnes of coal; 6,068 tonnes of soyabean meal and 13,011 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 56,873 tonnes comprised of 33,129 tonnes of containerised cargo and 150 tonnes of general cargo; 16,574 tonnes of bulk cargo: 4,690 tonnes of cement; 5,684 tonnes of rice; 6,200 tonnes of talcum powder and 11,659 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 3,534 containers comprising of 962 containers import and 2,572 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 639 of 20's and 83 of 40's loaded while 55 of 20's and 51 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 934 of 20's and 464 of 40's loaded containers while 364 of 20's and 173 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely HS Marco Polo, Northern Power, Kota Kamil, Chem Vega and Klima carrying containers, oil tanker and cement respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were five vessels viz. Kota Kamil, Wan Hai-172, Chem Vega, Pacific Legend and Grand Breaker carrying containers, oil tanker, fertilizer and bulk cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There was one ship namely Bedford Castle carrying general cargo sailed out to sea on Tuesday.
There were three vessels viz. Than Binh-22, Thorco Ace and Oriental Acacia carrying oil tankers and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while four vessels viz. Hyundai Busan, PAC Aries, AS Ophelia and Alam Sayang carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

The total import cargo of 67,012 tonnes includes 20,284 tonnes of furnace oil; 11,490 tonnes of coal and 35,238 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 27,174 tonnes includes 27,174 tonnes of containerised cargo.
There were three ships namely CV Petro Hue, CV Safmarine Ngami and MT Shalamar with containers and furnace oil respectively sailed out sea on Tuesday morning.
A total number of four vessels viz. CV Petro Hue, CV Safmarine Ngami, MV Equador Harmony and MT Shalamar currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as five ships namely CMA CGM Debussy, Al Bahia, Alpine Loyalty, Global Vika and Feng Hai-33 carrying containers, crude oil and edible oil respectively at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Tuesday.
There were two vessels viz. CV Petro Hue and CV Safmarine Ngami carrying containers took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Monday.
There are four ships namely CV CMA CGM Debussy, CV Al Bahia, MT Alpine Loyalty and MT Global Vika carrying containers, crude oil and edible oil respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
