Fighting terrorism: Pakistan will support Nigeria

Principal Secretary to the President of Nigeria Hassan Tukur and High Commissioner of Nigeria along with three-member high level delegation called on Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain and Secretary Defence Production Lieutenant General Tanvir Tahir (Retd) at the Ministry of Defence Production here on Wednesday.
Nigerian and Pakistan have ties of common Muslim brotherhood. Nigerians, like in the past, showed interest in getting technical support for their defence industry from Pakistan. They have also asked the Pakistanis to open avenues of joint production, keeping in view, the potential of Pakistan's thriving Defence Industry. This was stated by Hassan Tukur, Principal Secretary to the President of Nigeria, during his meeting with Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Defence Production.
"Pakistan will extend all-out help to support Nigeria in fighting terrorism and extremism in their country. Pakistan itself fighting a war on terror and in this regard we fully understand that trainings and technical support will be needed to fight terror in Nigeria," said Rana Tanveer Hussain. Pakistani Minister also reiterated that the Nigerian brothers will be given all help and support to build their Defence Industry.
"Pakistan has some very good aircrafts, ships, petrol boats and communication equipment being produced at the state of the Art Defence Industry and we will not only provided to Nigeria but also look towards joint ventures as requested by the Nigerians," he added. Pakistan thanked Nigerians for participating in IDEAS-2014 and the meeting proved fruitful in exploring areas of defence co-operation.-PR
