Renovation of offices: KP PAC forms body to probe into illegal expenditure

Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly while taking stern notice of the expenditure of 18.310 million rupees in violation of procedure on the rehabilitation and renovation of different offices under the auspices of Warsak Canal Division, Peshawar and missing of some items has constituted a sub-committee for detailed investigation into the matter.
The sub-committee headed by Arbab Akbar Hayat Khan has been directed for preparation of a comprehensive inquiry report to present it before the committee as soon as possible. The meeting held here on Wednesday with MPA Shaukat Ali Yousafzai in the chair at Assembly Secretariat. MPAs Arbab Akbar Hayat Khan, Mufti Said Janan, Mehmood Khan Betani, Secretary KP Assembly, Amanullah Khan, Additional Secretary Assembly, Amjid Ali, Secretary Irrigation and concerned authorities of the Departments of Audit, Law and Finance attended the meeting.
The committee also directed the Irrigation authorities to accelerate the recovery pace of Abiyana and preparation of feasible line of action in the light of the directives of the former Public Accounts Committee so the provincial revenue could be increased. The meeting also took notice of the lack of 4.140 million rupees recovery from the shops established in the jurisdiction of the Warsak Canal Division since financial year 2008-09 and directed the early recovery of the aforementioned amount.
