Seven killed, 382 hurt in Punjab road accidents

Total 496 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122's Provincial Monitoring Cell (PMC) in all 36 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 07 lives were lost and 382 seriously injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 200 minor injured were provided first aid by Rescue 1122 on the spot.
According to data provided by the PMC, 190 drivers, 17 underage drivers, 111 pedestrians and 288 passengers were among the injured persons of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 118 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 115 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 55 RTAs in Faisalabad with 69 victims and Gujranwala at third position with 33 RTAs and 35 victims.
The details further show that total 589 persons were affected by road traffic crashes including 480 males and 109 females, while age group of the affected persons show that 76 were under 18 year of age, 362 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 151 injured people were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 346 motorbikes, 84 auto rickshaws, 51 motorcars, 35 vans, 05 passenger buses, 21 trucks and 49 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
